The American Women’s Club in Finland was founded in 1970. Its mission is to provide a means for social interaction for women of American nationality or heritage residing in Finland. The AWC in Finland is a member of the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas (FAWCO), an international network of independent American women’s associations.

FAWCO brings member clubs together to support American women living abroad and to provide an avenue for coordinated action on subjects of common interest. For more information about FAWCO, please visit the FAWCO web site.

The club has over 200 members at this time. Half of these members are American and the others are Finnish or International. The Americans are a diverse group who are married to Finns, stationed here with the American Embassy, or working or studying in Finland.
