Supporting Member Option
- Who Qualifies?
Associate Members who have been an AWC member for 10 or more years,
but wish to be excused from the attendance requirement.
- Why aren't Full Members offered this status?
Full Members (US citizens and wives/daughters of) have no attendance
requirement.
- What are the benefits?
Normally, Associate members (non-US citizens or wives/daughters
of) must maintain their good standing by attending at least two
monthly club meetings per year. For supporting members, this attendance
requirement is WAIVED. The member may still attend all club functions,
tours, and events, and will continue to receive the newsletter.
She will still be listed in the directory, which she will continue
to receive annually, upon payment of the Club dues at the beginning
of the year.
- Are there any drawbacks?
She will not be able to vote, sponsor new members or hold office.
Most ladies who take this status have a long-term involvement
in one or more of the interest groups rather than the regular
meetings, so they do not use these privileges regularly.
- How do I sign up?
This status must be requested. You can contact our Membership
Coordinator. The change will be effected immediately.
Absentee Member
- Who Qualifies?
A full member or associate member may become an absentee member
upon request if she is unable to attend meetings. Partial payment
of dues is required during the absentee period.
- How can I resume active membership?
Active membership status for full members is resumed
immediately upon request. Associate members may also resume active
status immediately upon request, if space is available, otherwise
they are placed at the top of the waiting list.
