The AWC in Finland has both American (Full members) and International
members (Associate members).
Full members:
- Americans by virtue of place of birth
- Americans by parentage
- Americans by naturalization
- Former American citizens
- English speaking wives/partners of American citizens
- Daughters of American who are of have been full members of the AWC
Associate members:
- Non US citizens: To become an associate member, a person must
attend 2 monthly meetings within 2 years as the guest of a member
(guest fee 5€ per meeting). The member must then write a letter
of recommendation to the Executive Board.
- Membership is maintained by attending at least two meetings
during the club year.
Honorary member:
- The American Ambassador to Finland, if a woman, or the wife of the American Ambassador.
Membership benefits:
- All members receive the monthly newsletter, annual directory,
and access to the club's many activities and interest groups.
- We hold an annual new members reception where new members, Board
members, and interest group leaders can interact and get to know
each other.
How to join:
All memberships become effective upon payment of dues
(30€ per year). Dues can be made to the club bank account or in
person at a meeting.
There are alternate memberships avaiable, upon request, for members
who are unable to attend meetings or who have moved away. Click
